Crescent Calligraphy was established in east London in 2018 as a small family-run business specialising in Arabic and English calligraphy workshops and custom work. We began making and selling Eid cards for charity and were surprised by the positive response and support we received.

We taught calligraphy to and made orders for family and friends initially, but were soon contacted by institutions like Kings College London for custom work, and did live personalisation events in Selfridges.

During the pandemic, our online workshops took off and we were lucky enough to meet and teach hundreds of students across the world. Companies looking for a unique activity to do with their employees during Covid soon got in touch, and our house was often transformed into a calligraphy kit making factory, with everyone getting involved!

Once things started returning to normal, companies who we’d worked with online over the pandemic wanted something in person. We started teaching in and doing events in offices, and have since worked with a number of prestigious clients including John Lewis, UN’s International Maritime Organisation, Jo Malone and Apple.

Charity will always remain at the heart of our business, and most recently, hundreds of our hand-designed Palestine vinyl stickers have been shipped across the world in support of Medical Aid for Palestinians.
